Who we are
Rake is developed by Ahmed Reshi. This policy explains how the Rake iOS app and this website handle information. Contact info@ahmedreshi.com with privacy questions.
The short version
Rake processes your photos and videos on your device. We do not receive your photo library or operate a server for processing your media. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics or crash-reporting services.
Photo library access
With your permission, Rake reads photos, videos, albums, and related metadata to display, filter, review, and edit your media. Metadata can include asset identifiers, filenames, dates, dimensions, duration, file size, favorite status, and location already stored with a photo or video.
You can allow access to selected photos or your full library. Rake can save edited copies, manage albums and favorites when you choose those actions, and request deletion of items you select. A swipe marks an item for review; library deletion requires confirmation.
Imported media and saved metadata
If you open or share media into Rake, the app may copy those files into local app storage for review or editing. Editing and exporting can also create temporary files on your device.
Saved copies may retain metadata from the original, including its date and embedded location. Rake is not a metadata-removal tool. Check a file’s metadata before sharing it if you do not want to disclose that information.
Local data and retention
Rake stores settings, review decisions, media identifiers, cached file sizes, and usage statistics locally so you can resume your work. These statistics are for the app’s own interface and are not sent to us as analytics. Local data remains until it is reset, removed by the app or operating system, or the app is deleted. Temporary files and imported copies may remain until app or system cleanup.
Deleting the app removes its app-local data; offloading the app can retain that data. Photos and videos saved to your library remain in Photos. Device backups may contain app data according to your Apple backup settings.
Apple services and your choices
Your iCloud Photos, device backups, and Apple diagnostics settings operate separately from Rake. Photos you edit or delete may sync across your devices through iCloud Photos. Apple may process information under its own settings and policies; this policy does not promise that your device never communicates with Apple.
Manage photo access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Rake. Revoking access stops future library access but does not undo saved edits or remove files already imported into the app. Photos deleted through Rake are handled by Apple Photos, including Recently Deleted where applicable.
This website
This website does not add analytics, advertising pixels, tracking cookies, or third-party scripts. Our hosting provider may process request information, including IP address, browser information, requested pages, and request times, to deliver and secure the website. We do not set a retention period for the provider’s infrastructure logs.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and investigate your request. Our email provider processes that correspondence. Messages may be retained for follow-up and support history; contact us to request deletion. Do not send private media unless you intend to share it.
App Store links open Apple’s services, where Apple’s privacy policy applies.
Children
Rake has no account system and does not collect personal information through the app, including from children. If a child sends personal information by email, contact us to request its removal.
Changes to this policy
We will publish changes here and update the date above. For questions about this policy or information you have sent us, email info@ahmedreshi.com.
